Hearing Tests. Do you need an Ear Wax check?
Think you need a hearing test? It could be built up ear wax rather than a permanent hearing loss. Let us check you as part of your microsuction appointment before you have a hearing test.
If you have been suffering with muffled hearing or total hearing loss you could have conductive hearing loss. One of the causes of this is the build-up of wax in your ear canal, which in turn can stop the transmission of sound waves, resulting in muffled or reduced hearing.
If you are a hearing aid user, this build of wax can also affect the function of the hearing aid, which in turn results in muffled or reduced hearing. There are 2 great reasons to come and see us and have microsuction before you attend a hearing test.
Why not book in at one of our Just Ears clinic locations to have your ears checked for wax before your hearing test as part of our microsuction service. This way you can be reassured your ears are clear of wax prior to your hearing test, or if we find wax you can have microsuction to clear it out in readiness for your hearing test. You may even find a hearing test is no longer needed wax you have had the wax removed at Just Ears.
To save you time and money, it is important you have your ears checked if you are suffering from hearing loss especially if you are a hearing aid wearer. People have often reported an increase in earwax when they begin to wear them. The hearing aids can stimulate the glands in the ear canal to produce more wax and block the normal movement of wax along the ear canal.
