Half term is the perfect time to tick off those little health jobs that get pushed aside during busy school weeks. This October, we’re encouraging families to make ear care part of the break, so children start the next term hearing clearly, and parents use a bit of their own time off to book an appointment too. Book now before spaces fill up.
Why half term works
No school run, no rush. With a calmer schedule, there’s time to explain what will happen, answer questions, and keep the experience positive.
Signs your child might need an ear check
Children don’t always say their ears feel blocked. You might notice them asking you to repeat things, turning up the TV or tablet volume, tugging at their ears, or seeming more irritable during conversations. Recent colds, allergies, or congestion can also increase wax build up. If any of these sound familiar, it’s worth booking an assessment rather than trying to clean at home with cotton buds. Clear ears can help with concentration, communication, and confidence in class.
What makes Just Ears different for children
Our Young Persons Microsuction Service (ages 12–17) is designed with safety and comfort in mind. Specialist clinicians, GPs and ENT consultants trained in paediatric ear care use microscope guided microsuction, the gold standard for narrow, sensitive ear canals to remove the wax from your child’s ear. Our clinics are CQC regulated this is the same level of regulation hospitals and GP practices also adhere to.
A chance to care for your own ears too
Why not use this half term as an opportunity to book for both you and your child to be seen at the same time?
