On ‘National Face Your Fears Day’, Sabrina talks about how happy she was after deciding to visit our Southampton Clinic to have microsuction to help with her blocked ears. She was extremely worried about all the treatment options, and which would be best for her, and any side effects there might be.

‘After using ear drops for days and feeling no better about the muffled hearing and lack of concentration I did some internet research and found a solution called ear microsuction. I found Just Ears and rang the number. The receptionist was lovely, she answered all my questions and found me the first available appointment.

The following day I woke up and started to panic about what I had booked. I had never heard of ear microsuction and Just Ears for that matter; Was it a real clinic? What was the procedure? I started doing some more research about microsuction, read some blog sites and found people who had some bad side effects. Not realising that these treatments had probably been done by untrained individuals, or using the wrong equipment, I decided to book myself in for irrigation as my doctor had recommended the procedure.

However, as I started to look into the pro’s and con’s of irrigation the more concerned I got about being left with tinnitus, deafness, and infection!

I spoke to my partner about the situation, showed him Just Ears website and a few articles on microsuction. After looking through Just Ears facebook page he told me he recognised someone who had liked the page too. I got my partner to contact him right away; The guy couldn’t recommend the procedure and Just Ears highly enough, he said it was the best thing he had ever done for his ears.

With some of my worries put to one side, I turned up at the clinic. The staff were wonderful and professional, the premises were clean and the consultant fantastic. He ran through the process, answered all my weird and wonderful questions and then got straight to it. The procedure isn’t intrusive, it doesn’t hurt and strangely enough, it’s quite satisfying to hear the wax being sucked out of the ear. You feel a bit dizzy once it’s over but that passes very quickly. I couldn’t recommend this treatment highly enough, don’t go for irrigation pop to Just Ears and hear!’
